Longstanding Michelin star chef Bart Desmidt is a high priest of regional products.
His restaurant Bartholomeus in Heist has a sacred duty of culinary significance: serving the best products, which are mostly regional. Amounting from tradition, Bart Desmidt learnt that fishers from Heist and surrounding areas took a particular kind of caramel with them on their barren Iceland travels, dating back well into the 20th century. In accordance with his obsession to raise regional products to a sensory explosion, the chef searched regional components to implement in his dessert menu. He ended up using various combinations of Babelutte. Babelutte ice cream, Babelutte with fruit and mint, Babbelutte pralines, In consultation with Christophe Roelens, who exclusively holds the patent for the real Babelutte, the idea arose to open a praline shop: BbyB, Babelutte by Bartholomeus.

ABOUT LENNY LELEU
NYC/Antwerp— LENNY LELEU is the über bad-ass Belgian designer who is able to synthesize past and present, haute couture and ready-to-wear into a singular—and beautiful —range.
She’s interested in channeling the past without imitating it and concentrates on creating unusual and experimental garments and accessories with an artistic flair. Her brand is super creative and adventurous and Lenny is becoming well-known for her idiosyncratic design, exaggerated volumes and unorthodox swimwear.
Lenny’s clothes consistently toy with the proportions of a women’s body; she is a designer unafraid to juxtapose dramatically tailored garments with homographic detailing, something she does with tremendous panache. She cuts to flatter and intrigue and adds a good dose of tongue-and-cheek to her aesthetic. Shapes are directional and inventive and Lenny’s clothes can be treated as wearable art—all peppered with a sly sense of humor. In her work, Lenny embraces a discourse of extremes exhibiting the divide between an analytical/architectural style and then skillfully constructs and deconstructs it with a fun orientation.
Lenny’s background is formidable: she attendedAntwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts where she earned a degree in fashion design. After cutting her teeth at various design houses including Daryl K in NYC and JEREMY SCOTT in LA, she went back to Antwerp in 2009 to nurture her eponymous clothing and accessories line.

This collection flows out of LENNY LELEU’S most recent 2011 summer collection and is in a certain way a moodboard, where Lenny’s swimwear fans can come home to.
The LENNY girls are experiencing their own ‘APOCALYPSE ON THE BEACH’ and are enjoying this last apocalyptic day on earth on the beach surrounded by millions of palmtrees, flamingo’s and for once, don’t give a damn about calories…

ABOUT JEAN-MICHEL BASQUIAT
Jean-Michel Basquiat was a New York graffiti writer and Neo-Expressionist Painter who became known in the international art scene. Basquiat was linked to many other famous individuals, dating Madonna in 1982 and collaborating with Andy Warhol from 1984-85. In 1988, Jean-Michel Basquiat died of a heroin overdose at the age of 27.
